Is it true that people eat hundreds of spiders while asleep?

Detective Pux has found that the idea that people eat spiders during sleep is a common myth. While it is true that spiders can end up in unexpected places, including inside homes, the likelihood of a spider ending up in someone's mouth while they are sleeping is extremely low.

Spiders are not attracted to the warmth and carbon dioxide that we exhale while sleeping, and they also do not tend to crawl on or near our faces. Additionally, the human body has reflexes that would prevent a spider from entering the mouth even if it were to accidentally land there. In short, it is highly unlikely that anyone would eat a spider while sleeping and it is a myth that has been circulating for a long time.
